.. back to NEWS

In March 2016 the Scottish Housing Minister, Margaret Burgess, visited Fife Keyfund office to present the Trust with the award for Crisis Private Renting Champions Scotland. Trust in Fife are proud to receive the CRISIS Private Renting Champions Award for 2016. This highlights the excellent service offered by all staff involved within the Trust as the award is based on outcomes and positive practice provided within the Private Sector. The award acknowledges that we are leading the way in terms of innovative thinking and development of the services that we provide.

What is a Private Renting Champion?

Private Renting Champions have actively engaged with Crisis. They are focused on finding solutions to overcome any difficulties, and are keen to share their experiences and best practice. They have had a good level of success on their own private rented sector access scheme.

The responsibilities of a Private Renting Champion

A Private Renting Champion will be a point of contact for advice and assistance to other schemes, on their nominated area of expertise. This area will be one which commonly presents a challenge to private rented sector access schemes. The scheme will provide relevant information and materials, as well as case studies with photographs to illustrate their work on the Crisis Private Renting website. The scheme may be asked to attend conferences/events organised by Crisis to give short presentations. They will also provide contact details for the Crisis website, and respond to other schemes’ enquiries on advice and assistance on their area of expertise.
